Hertfordshire Farmhouse

Situated in the South Cambridgeshire countryside between Royston and Cambridge, this Hertfordshire garden project combines traditional craftsmanship with premium natural materials to create a timeless outdoor space. The pool area is framed by an oak sleeper retaining wall and finished with Indian sandstone paving, complemented by a bespoke English white oak pool cover. Raised beds built from solid oak sleepers include integrated internal drainage for long term durability and plant health. A hand crafted house sign made from a live edge oak slab adds a personal detail, while structural sleeper walls with steel I beam posts provide strength and definition across the garden. The scheme is completed with sawn Yorkstone steps and patio paving, using large format slabs and reclaimed cathedral Yorkstone to add character, weight, and a sense of permanence, well suited to the character of Hertfordshire gardens and landscapes. This project draws on our wider garden design, paving, planting, and specialist construction services, which you can explore in more detail on our services page.
